There are several ways to send information from BIMeye and the procedure varies according to the design tool you are using -an ArchCAD user cant work with Types and can therefor not view nor report amounts from the view Object Types (like a Revit user can).
The most common way to create reports, independandt of design tool, is to group objects/instances in the object view and then with the help of report types display the information.

What is being reported and how to define the selection is being done by selecting Models and Floors as well as incorporating different search criterias. Different groupings may need done dependant on the report typ to be created.
An amount list can be grouped and sorted according to Littera while a Room description can be sorted according to Room number etc. All these variations can then be saved under Display, View and Sort Columns as well as Filter, Group and Sort to quickly fascilitate a report with the same content.

If you wish to report a selection of objects you filter by searching a column, e.g. if you only want to view fixed equipment you can search the column Casework. You can also filter according to a specific package.

You can also select single articles by filtering and report them.

Different codes in reports templates defines how information should be presented. In this article we try to use a few examples to describe different methods of creating reports.

ROOM DESCRIPTION (grouped objects in Interior or Asset manager)

Here is how to create a room description:

1. Select Objects in the menu to the left.

2. Under Display, select a view that is adjusted for the report type you want to create. A room schedule should contain Room name, Room number as well as Littera/Code, Definition, Product name as well as description.
Continue by selecting a Set under Filter, Group and Sort. To create a Room description you need Room Number and Room Name to be grouped. Make sure that the Set (under Filter, Group and Sort) has been activated.

3. Make sure that the correct objects are displayed in the view and that it is sorted properly. (Room number and Room name is best grouped and sorted according to Room number).

4. Click on Create Report, select Report.

5. Select Report type. In the reports template you can select what parameters to be displayed in the report.

Enter the information needed in the formula.

Report name – Makes it easier to find the report in the Report Archive.

Created by - Signature or name of the person who created the report, visible in the finished report.

Date created – The defined date of the reports.

Status – Report status, e.g. purpose of report

Example below:

Other information in the font head could either be fixed text or read from the Project Information, the start page of BIMeye.

6. The report is created when you select Create Report.

7. Created Reports can be found in the Report Archive in the menu to the left.

8. With Download,  the blue arrow to the bottom right in the Report Archive after the Reports name, you can download the report to view and/or send it to a printer of create a PDF.

Some information regarding Report templates:

To be able to report grouped objects the syntax in the report needs to be updated. Below is some different examples of reports and results.

Example 1: Door card grouped on all parameters except swing direction.

The report starts with  ${page  grouped="true" spacing="false" fontSize="7"} to be able to communicate that it is a grouped report.

A grouped table displays the amount of right and left swing doors of this type.

Example 2 Product description existing in a table.

${repeating grouped="true" spacing="false" fontSize="9"}

${table type="object_group" bold="true" width="full":CODE,DEFINITION,AMOUNT}

${table type="instance_group" sorting-column="ROOM NUMBER" sorting-direction= "DESC" width="full":ROOM NUMBER,ROOM NAME,AMOUNT}

 This creates a heading with the headline CODE, Description and Amount and under the table sort it according to Room number displaying Rom number, Room name and Amount of objects/room.

Example 3 Product description existing in a product page.
